We hope you will take the time to get to know us and on behalf of the congregation, we welcome you to SOJC!  What makes SOJC so special?  Southwest Orlando Jewish Congregation (SOJC) is more than a synagogue to come to for Shabbat or High Holiday worship. We are more than a thriving religious school where children learn to be Jewish and to be a part of a Jewish community. We are also more than an institution to have Bar/Bat Mitzvah’s, weddings and other life cycle events.  What makes SOJC so very special is the warmth of our welcoming, enthusiastic, diverse congregation. We are a family in almost every sense of the word. We celebrate, take care of and support each other. On any given shabbat, you will find either a celebration of a birthday, a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, an informal learning session, or a rekindling or creation of new friendships. When you become an SOJC member and join us in either prayer services or any of our varied programs, our hope is that you will feel you  have found your Jewish home. A recently received letter from a traveling family wrote after their visit, “We felt very welcome there and the conversations at the kiddush lunch table were very enlightening and enjoyable. The members certainly make it a friendly place.”
